“Loyalty and clarity are needed.” Giuseppe Conte, guest on In Onda on La7, steps into the field for the broad coalition primaries. The leader of the Five Star Movement, a strong favorite in case of consultations, does not hide behind a finger. And he asks the PD to take a step forward. “If the only possibility offered to us is to say that the strongest party takes all – explained the former Prime Minister -, this is something that, at a time when an alliance is being built with political forces that have different sensitivities, is not sustainable. All other forces compared to the strongest party would be automatically downgraded to bushes and the electorate would feel like playing a non-leading role”.
So those of the M5s say to coalition allies: “Let’s have a great popular participation and hold the Primaries, we will find the most competitive candidate. If then, however, at some point they do not want to do it, let us be told and we will take note, and we will talk about it clearly not in the newspapers, clarity and loyalty are needed”. Otherwise, would everything fall apart? “How do we other political forces that for the first time have to build a program accept that the strongest party decides everything?”.
