A different story for Atreju, the festival of Brothers of Italy. The event organized by Giorgia Meloni’s party invited a long list of figures attributable to the opposing camp to the center-right. Massimo D’Alema, Fausto Bertinotti, Walter Veltroni, Romano Prodi, Enrico Letta, Graziano Delrio, and Matteo Renzi, just to name a few guests of the annual right-wing festival. But also, in 2025, Giuseppe Conte, Angelo Bonelli, Carlo Calenda, and Riccardo Magi. Elly Schlein, however, declined the invitation. At Atreju, in fact, the left-wing guest is sacred. At the PD event, only “in quota dem” figures will be present, such as Elly Schlein, Stefano Bonaccini, Michele De Pascale, Matteo Lepore, Gianni Cuperlo, Dacia Maraini, Silvio Garattini, VIPs, actors, chefs, and various cameos.

Nothing to be surprised about. The PD, on the other hand, thinks differently. As claimed by the organizational secretary Igor Taruffi during the presentation press conference, “what interests us is to clarify the programmatic proposals of the Center-Left for the elections, engaging with social and economic forces. To debate with opponents, there is Parliament.”
