A tremendous mourning for the National team coach Silvio Baldini: Valentina, the daughter of the Tuscan coach, has died at the age of 30 years. The girl had suffered from a severe form of spastic tetraparesis since birth.
“Valentina taught me to love without expecting anything in return,” the coach had said about his daughter. Baldini, coach of Italy Under 21 called by the then FIGC president Gabriele Galvina to replace the dismissed Gennaro Gattuso after the World Cup playoff lost against Bosnia, became the head coach of the senior National team and in a few days will be replaced by the new president Malagò and the new technical director Paolo Maldini after leading the Azzurrini in two friendlies: against Luxembourg and against Greece, two away matches both won 1-0.
Sporting matters obviously take a back seat in the face of this tragedy. Baldini, 58 years old, has always spoken about his daughter Valentina’s condition without ever presenting it as a limitation. A source of moral strength and love, if anything. The coach has received condolences from many teams and personalities in our football.

Among the first accounts to remember Valentina is that of Perugia Calcio, which expresses “condolences and heartfelt closeness, for the loss of daughter Valentina, to mister Silvio Baldini”, former coach of the Griffins. “In this moment of pain, the entire Perugia Calcio environment stands with the coach, his wife Paola, and the Baldini family.”
