It is the Circolo Canottieri Aniene, a historic club in the capital that unites Giovanni Malagò, Roberto Mancini, and Claudio Ranieri, the three protagonists of the Azzurri’s restart.

With Mancini’s return to the Italy bench and Ranieri’s entry into the federation staff, many have pointed out how the three have shared a bond for years that goes beyond football. The meeting point is precisely the Circolo Aniene, an exclusive reality of North Rome that over the years has become a meeting place for entrepreneurs, executives, politicians, and big names in sport.
For Malagò, Aniene is almost a second home. He was its president for twenty years and today holds the role of honorary president. Mancini is a regular visitor: between the gym, sports fields, and meetings with other members, he is one of the most well-known faces of the club.
