Roberto Vannacci announced from Viareggio the entry of five new members into Futuro Nazionale, his far-right movement, defining it with military rhetoric as «our landing in Normandy». The operation brings the number of deputies in the group to eight, thus doubling its parliamentary representation, and marks a significant withdrawal of parliamentarians from the governing majority. From the League come the Calabrian Domenico Furgiuele and the Venetian Gianangelo Bof. From Forza Italia pass Attilio Pierro and Davide Bergamini.

To these is added as a militant the economist Antonio Maria Rinaldi, former League MEP and a historical voice of Italian Euroscepticism. Vannacci highlighted the growth in membership: from 90,000 to 94,000 members in just 24 hours. The newcomers justify their choice with ideological consistency. Rinaldi complained about a progressive abandonment, by the League, of the themes of monetary and border sovereignty on which it had built its consensus.
