The orphans of Giuseppe Conte went into a frenzy and, in front of the FdI group leader Galeazzo Bignami, who had resigned from the Covid Commission precisely to be heard by the same parliamentary investigative body, decided to desert yesterday’s hearing. No big deal: without the opposition’s cross-examination, Bignami fired at will against the yellow-red management of the emergency, revealing unprecedented background details that rewrite the origin of that crazy season. «The government (Conte, ed.) had a transparency problem with the pandemic plan,» Bignami began. An accusation that the Melonian exponent immediately linked to the numerous requests for access to documents presented during the first phase of the pandemic, all promptly rejected or bounced back. Until the answer that revealed the game of Roberto Speranza and Giuseppe Conte. «The ministry tells me it was not available to provide» the papers on the pandemic plan, Bignami recounted, «so I decided to appeal to the Tar». «Italy» under Giuseppe Conte, Bignami continued, «violated the prescriptions of European law, not updating the pandemic plan as other European states had done. Even if outdated, the 2006 plan certainly could have brought benefits».
Giuseppi’s executive, in short, not only would have arrived unprepared for the encounter with the virus, but would have even denied information on the organization and functioning of the health prevention machine to a parliamentarian. Moreover, the grillini’s watchwords of that time were clear: to shield Palazzo Chigi and prevent the free circulation of sensitive information from embarrassing the yellow-reds. So much so that, while the task force minutes showed that the availability of masks and protective devices was very «limited» in our country, «Minister Di Maio» announced a «donation of between 5 and 18 tons of free health devices» directed to Beijing. An absurd «gift» made to the nation that, a few months later, would have foisted millions and millions of fake masks, paid for at exorbitant prices, on our country and the entire world.

But the most striking short circuit between propaganda and reality comes immediately after, when Bignami reveals that «the Ministry of Health informed me that the Covid task force was only an informal table», despite the enormous power that Roberto Speranza and Conte himself attributed to it. Including that of keeping the entire population locked in their homes for months and months. Bignami, however, did not fall for that «misdirection»: on November 5, 2020, the deputy submitted a further request for civic access to obtain the minutes of those meetings, even if «informal». The ministry’s response was surprising: those documents allegedly did not exist. The deputy insisted, filed other requests, and, once again, turned to the administrative judges. And won. Only then, he explains, «the Ministry of Health produced the minutes of the task force whose existence they had previously denied». And from that documentation, another shocking detail emerges. «For the flight from China with 202 passengers in January 2020, no passenger tracing was done». A week later, Italian citizens returning from Wuhan were transferred to isolation in Cecchignola. For the passengers of the previous flight, however, no verification was carried out. In March, Italy would have been put into lockdown by decision of the then Prime Minister Conte. But evidently, the grillino leader does not want to talk about this. Who knows why.
