September 7 will be an important date: the Review Court will have to examine the request for house arrest submitted for Valter Lavitola. For now, therefore, the confessed perpetrator of the attack on Sigfrido Ranucci remains detained. Yesterday, Pellegrino D’Avino and Antonio Passariello, two of the four arrested in the investigation, were interrogated. Their lawyers claim that their clients did not know either Ranucci or Lavitola and are also contesting the mafia aggravating circumstance.

Today the judicial issue is mainly to understand how much of Lavitola’s confession is supported by the investigations and what the real motive was. On the Rai front, meanwhile, Ranucci’s situation has become equally delicate: the company is reportedly considering relocating the journalist and an internal solution for the succession at the helm of Report. His collaborators, even the closest ones, are already ready to take his place.
