Second marriage, in great secrecy, for Guido Crosetto: the Minister of Defense has remarried Gaia Saponaro. Private wedding. Actually very private: no announcement and above all no politicians, although – it is learned from the Messaggero – Giorgia Meloni knew about the happy event.
The ceremony was held in July in Provence, far from the Roman Palaces and especially from the spotlight. A choice due to the desire to protect the privacy of an event attended by fewer than fifty people, including family members, close friends, and very few familiar faces. In fact, the marriage is only now being revealed.
Framing the wedding was a small country church. Crosetto appeared in an ivory-colored suit, with white flowers on the boutonnière, visibly emotional as he entered arm in arm with his mother. Gaia Saponaro instead chose an elegant white dress. At the altar, the exchange of rings was accompanied by the notes of two violins, while the guests sought shelter from the heat with fans.

For Crosetto and Saponaro, this is the second marriage. Their relationship has lasted about twenty years and the couple has two children. Eleven years ago they had already said their first yes, in that case with a civil ceremony: the union was celebrated by the then mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino, while Meloni acted as a witness.

This time, however, the premier was not among the guests. And with her, practically the entire political world was left out. Meloni, as mentioned, was aware of the wedding: according to what leaked, she had talked about it at the Quirinale during a lunch with Sergio Mattarella, who immediately “called” for a toast to the happy event.
At the end of the ceremony, the celebrations continued outdoors. For the reception, a single large imperial table was set up on a lawn, around which the guests took their seats.
