Aldo Serena, historic striker with 166 goals scored in his career, always has a keen instinct not for goals but for clear impressions after 4 matchdays of the championship. Good or bad impressions, Aldo?
«Positive. The game seems faster than before, more English. Except for some bad matches like Napoli-Bologna: commenting on it, I thought more could be done».
Refereeing: are you convinced by the new Orsato method that involves less VAR and is more permissive on fouls?
«Very much. It has given a turning point to the game by avoiding harmful time-wasting waiting for sometimes convoluted external decisions. What else to improve? Certain behaviors of players, like clever hand tricks and certain simulations».
The championship is about to offer us Roma-Inter.
«For this Roma it will be a real maturity test, for Inter a classroom assignment to evaluate its creaky defense».
Roma seems like a speeding Frecciarossa.
«Gasperini has given them a game that catches the eye with a physically fit Dybala. The team attacks, entertains but is at the same time concrete thanks to that phenomenon Malen».
Inter? Calhanoglu will be missing at the Olimpico but they boast devastating power, everyone scores.
«Thuram is agile, Bonny fast, Pio Esposito powerful. And Lautaro… is Lautaro».
Why does Inter often concede goals? Due to mistakes? Lapses? Mechanisms still to be fixed?
«With the summer signings the quality of the squad has improved but behind Chivu must objectively fix something if he wants to go far also in the Champions: they can’t always come back. It could be difficult against Roma».
Chivu defended Martinez from post-Madrid criticism…
«If he believes in him he did very well. But Provedel is an excellent number 1».
Who is in deep crisis is Juventus: Spalletti is on edge, the team has no game and the market under fire.
«For too many years Juve has spent crazy amounts but has not managed to bring quality to the squad. Two names above all clarify this bad situation better: Kolo Muani and Koopmeiners».

Two flops of a perpetually confused club?
«In the past Juve always had champions on the field. Is that a good answer?».
Milan struggles: is it right to trust Amorim?
«Milan lacks continuity, synchronizations still fail. The Portuguese coach is trying to get into the heads of the players, who for seven elevenths are the same as in the Allegri era, a different game. At the moment he manages it for 15-20’, not for the whole match».
How far can Como realistically go?
«High. The club has done wonders but Fabregas is a coach of a higher category with game ideas that few boast in Italy».
Gattuso had come out of the Azzurri failure battered but is regaining confidence at Lazio.
«After the cold shower Rino took as national coach, his immediate return to the bench seemed a gamble. Instead, I foresee Lazio will be the dark horse of Serie A».
Allegri struggles in Naples: team at the end of a cycle?
«De Laurentiis spent little on the market, then entrusted Allegri with a squad perhaps not at the end of a cycle, but worn out. Max will have to manage it».
A player who impressed you?
«Romano I like, he has the feet of a great midfielder and a great future».
What should coach Mancini be happy about?
«Roberto has always been attentive to young players and, apart from Romano, I think he was impressed by Cissé. Another future Azzurri starter».
