There is a common thread linking AI-Odv, the association whose secretary is Paolo De Rosa, an official of the European Commission who was previously the digital manager at Palazzo Chigi during the governments of Paolo Gentiloni, Giuseppe Conte, and Mario Draghi, to the world of anarchist terrorism. It is recalled that Ai-Odv manages Autistici Inventati, the platform that provides digital services to over six hundred sites of jihadists, anarchists, far-left antagonists, eco-fanatics, particularly ensuring anonymity, assistance, and also fundraising. It is also recalled that the US government has blacklisted the association as it is considered to “provide the technological infrastructure that allows terrorist organizations or those dedicated to extremism and violence to communicate, organize, and operate.” Well, it turns out that De Rosa’s associates in AI-Odv are two old acquaintances of the red antagonism, Raffaele Messuti and Ronny Brusetti, linked to Indymedia, the events at the Diaz school during the 2001 G8 in Genoa, and especially the latter, to radical and anarchist antagonism. In light of the conclusions of the US government, following the aforementioned common thread, one could, if not rewrite, at least partially correct the history of the Mexican slaughterhouse of Bolzaneto and the police raid on the building. A page, it must be reiterated, in which the law enforcement forces behaved brutally and which also saw the two aforementioned individuals, present on the night of Diaz, constitute themselves as civil parties.

In reality, AI-Odv is nothing but the new name of Investici, the association that previously managed the services of Autistici Inventati, a project that, coincidentally, was born right after the events in Genoa 25 years ago and is a familiar name to the Italian police and secret services. Already in 2003, Investici was under scrutiny by the Bologna Prosecutor’s Office for its connection with the Anarchist Black Cross, a reality belonging to left-wing extremism, despite the gloss of its name. In particular, among the incidents under investigation, there is the 2003 attack on Romano Prodi, then president of the EU Commission, who was sent a bomb package. In 2005 there were arrests, but these did not lead to convictions. However, years later, some of those involved were found to have collaborated in the attacks for which Alfredo Cospito is now in prison, under a harsh regime, the anarchist jailed for shooting the CEO of Ansaldo in Genoa and for a dynamite attack on the Carabinieri training school in Fossano. The man, to be clear, is suspected of having close ties with Cosa Nostra bosses, who allegedly used him to dismantle the 41bis regime and whom the PD went to visit in prison in a large and authoritative delegation.

And indeed, even considering that De Rosa was selected for Palazzo Chigi by trusted men of the PD, the behavior of Elly Schlein’s men remains curious. While Fdi has submitted two inquiries, one to the Chamber and the other to the European Parliament, to find out if AI-Odv collects funds for terrorist organizations and to ask about De Rosa’s current role at the EU offices, the Democrats continue to defend the Autistici Inventati collective, as if it were a harmless association persecuted by Donald Trump and not a suspected terror coordination center. “Why does the PD,” asks MP Augusta Montaruli, “instead of asking about national security, spend itself defending the association? What does the secretary know?” Certainly, one can hypothesize some embarrassment on Elly’s part, since De Rosa belonged to the team of digital experts presented with great fanfare at the Nazareno, led by former minister Barca. But in any case, such an omission is not easily explained in the face of possible threats to public security. After all, understanding for antagonism, even anarchist and bomb-throwing, is one of the company’s known weak points.
