Trouble in sight for the golden man of Vincenzo De Luca, “Mister Ciuf Ciuf” Umberto De Gregorio, former patron of the Campania trains. After 10 years spent in the command cabin at Eav (Ente Autonomo Volturno), the former manager finds himself with the Guardia di finanza on his heels and the Corte dei conti at the door. And the price to pay, if the investigative hypothesis is confirmed, could exceed half a million euros.
The financial police have acquired documents on his appointment as CEO of the regional company, a position held from 2018 to 2026 along with that of administrator. The suspicion is that this position was assigned to him without the 5 years of managerial experience. The investigation (pm Davide Vitale) accelerated between June and July, while De Gregorio was leaving Eav and the Region was entrusting the company to Pietro Diamantini.

The change of guard also led to the halt of any payments still due to the former manager. Palazzo Santa Lucia thus tries to put a brake on a possible financial damage caused by itself (miracles of the broad field…). The game is played on the requirements. Not so much on the lack of public selection, already examined by civil judges, but on the curriculum with which De Gregorio reached the top levels. If the 5 years as a manager are not there, the appointment could be declared null. In that case, the salaries should be returned. And we are not talking about small change. De Gregorio had joined Eav in 2015, chosen by De Luca as chairman of the board and administrator. In 2018 he also added the CEO position. And the compensation went from just over 40 thousand euros to 140 thousand euros.
