At the center of the debate during the latest episode of L’aria che tira on La7, the electoral law and political polls. The guest in the studio is pollster Luigi Crespi who, as soon as Parenzo introduces the Vannacci issue, shows himself rather impatient. “The point is that for the majority you have to deal with Vannacci. I know it’s a topic you reject…”, says the host. Crespi covers his face in despair: “You are one of the many obsessed. I counted: I’ve been here for ten minutes and he has already mentioned him ten times.”

“He is a protagonist on the political scene,” David tries to justify. Crespi immediately replies: “You turned him into a protagonist. It’s a narrative problem.” “For example – he continues – we have here Maria Elena Boschi who made a very effective speech according to which this government was nothing. But we are faced with a piece of news: it is the only case in Italy in the second republic, and also in Europe, where the main party in government is above the result of the political elections and its leader remains the most loved leader.”

At that point, Parenzo tries to interrupt. And Crespi gets angry: “Will you let me finish? If you want me to finish. Otherwise, if what I say doesn’t please you as usual and so you overpower me and take away my voice. Tell me what I have to say so at least we are calm.” Shortly after the situation calms down and Parenzo tries to shift the debate to the electoral law. Crespi, however, insists: “I don’t care about the electoral law. What interests me is that the story we are delivering to public opinion is your story, it is the story this broadcaster tells, that journalists tell, that newspapers tell…”. David, resigned, gives up.
