Brothers of Italy responds once and for all to the criticisms that, for more than 4 years, the left has directed at the government on the issue of tax pressure. It does so through the words of the President of the Finance Commission of the Chamber Marco Osnato, who spoke at “Bar Italia” in Maratea.

“We said we would cut taxes and we started doing it, the honorable Filini recalled very well the cut of the tax wedge. The expansion of the rate to 23% up to 28 thousand euros, so we started with the most disadvantaged classes, then we went on, the rate to 33% up to 50 thousand euros”.
“Then – Osnato continues – we said to work on tax relief as much as possible regarding the difference between the gross amount of a salary and the net amount on the payslip, trying to improve the net amount and so we have tax-relieved the contractual increases that we renewed. I remember there were contracts that had not been renewed for 5, 6, 7, 8 years and we practically renewed them all. We worked on the tax relief of holiday night overtime, we also worked on productivity bonuses which have a rate of 1% because less cannot be done”.
Here is then the response to the lies of the left: “I say it because there is this controversy ‘you have tax pressure at its maximum’. Tax pressure is not at its maximum: in the times of the one who accuses us the most, who is Matteo Renzi, it was much higher”. Osnato concludes by citing the absolutely positive data on employment: “In Italy we have one million two hundred and fifty thousand more workers, in these years of the Meloni government one million two hundred and fifty thousand Italians have found a job, not a handout. So revenues have increased because obviously those who work pay taxes and contributory revenues have obviously increased a lot, so this shows that there is a system that works very well”.
Brothers of Italy posted Osnato’s speech on social media, commenting thus: “We promised that we would cut taxes. We are doing it with seriousness and determination. And to the left, which continues to lie about tax pressure, we recommend a calculator and a bath of intellectual honesty”.
