“The duration of the Meloni government as the longest-lasting government in republican history is a historic fact – Federico Mollicone’s thought -. And if we reach the end of the legislature, this will be the first government to have completed the times set by the Constitution. Speranza and many in the center-left do not want primaries because if Giuseppe Conte were to win, it would be the end of the Democratic Party’s leadership, of the former communists as the coalition’s leading party. And this too – he then concluded – would be a historic fact.” If this were the case, it would explain Roberto Speranza’s grotesque statement who, interviewed by Corriere della Sera, explained how the premier candidate – at least for the PD – is of little importance.
