“A great day of struggle for the Val di Susa has concluded”. With these shameful words, the No Tav movement celebrates the latest guerrilla warfare at the high-speed construction site in Chiomonte. The police forces were literally stormed. A “show of force”, according to the far-left antagonists, a demonstration of being able to reach “where the devastation of the territory is commonplace. All the construction sites in the valley were reached and contested, the devices provided by the police forces were circumvented and overcome thanks to the determination of the many generations who took to the streets.”

The incidents were unfortunately widely anticipated. Behind the “screen” of the Festival dell’Alta felicità in Val di Susa, in the Turin area, there was indeed an army of hooded individuals. A black wave with the aim of harming the military, very badly. “20,000 people marched through the streets and paths of Val di Susa, transforming the work map into a route to be crossed with spirit and enthusiasm: to concretely oppose the project, to raise our heads against those who would want us silent, to defend this land of ours condemned from above to be a sacrifice zone – these are still the words of the No Tav movement -. The numbers, however, are chilling and speak of a massacre that only by chance did not become a true tragedy: there are indeed 126 injured among the police forces. According to qualified sources, among the injured there are 58 police officers, 48 Carabinieri, and 20 from the Guardia di Finanza. Approximately 450 individuals were identified among the activists.
