Comparing with the government, Gasparri pointed out how the foreign policy “of the center-right majority has always been able to find points of synthesis on fundamental choices. The left, on the other hand, disperses into a thousand streams, confirming its inadequacy for government roles. And in the ‘scattered field’ there are even those who act as paid consultants for this or that country. A very precarious condition to claim the role of teacher and polemicist. Even today the left has shown the obvious limits of a ‘Brancaleone army’ put together only by ‘no’s, but incapable of expressing a ‘yes’ on fundamental choices.”

Speaking about the interventions of Antonio Tajani and Guido Crosetto, ministers respectively of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Gasparri said they “offered an exhaustive overview of the Italian positions. Our country is a protagonist in the difficult but necessary attempts to create peace in the Middle Eastern area. This is demonstrated by the ongoing meetings with many Middle Eastern countries in Rome today and tomorrow.
