The current executive is indeed the longest-lasting in the history of the Republic, yet the former Speaker of the Chamber still finds a way to attack it. “Giorgia Meloni will go down in history as the first woman to head the government who, instead of fighting for all women, also prevents their access to institutions. The latest move by the majority on the electoral law is to eliminate gender representation for blocked list leaders. This means that the next Parliament, if this monstrosity is ever approved, could be almost entirely composed of men,” says the president of the Permanent Committee of the Chamber on human rights worldwide.

How could one forget the numerous open letters, appeals, and protest documents signed by female PD members to denounce the poor gender representation in leadership roles and electoral lists. The most striking case is that after the 2018 political elections. Over 400 PD women (including parliamentarians, local administrators, and activists) signed a very harsh manifesto of political revolt addressed to the male leaders of Nazareno.
