Yet the numbers from that season explain the Serbian’s answer well. Djokovic in 2015 won three Slams out of four, stopping only in the final at Roland Garros. In Paris he was defeated by Stan Wawrinka, but in the other three Majors he left no chance to the competition. He then added six Masters 1000 and the Finals, finishing the year with 82 wins and only six losses.

Sinner has nevertheless built a season of very high level. In the Masters 1000 played in 2026 he had a perfect record, winning five out of five. In the Slams the performance was less consistent: victory at Wimbledon, semifinal at the Australian Open, lost precisely against Djokovic, and an early exit at Roland Garros. The point, however, is that Sinner still has time. His career is far from the finish line and the best moment could still be ahead of him.
