At the Al Fanatics Fest in New York, Novak Djokovic was the protagonist of a funny moment together with other great stars of world sport. During the interview Djokovic spoke about his relationship with Jannik Sinner and the technical advice he had given in the past to the young Italian talent. With a joke, he admitted to almost regretting his help: according to the Serbian, he had shared with Sinner some videos and observations about his playing characteristics, pointing out strengths, weaknesses, and aspects to improve. Then, jokingly, he added that in the following years the Italian would have beaten him several times at Wimbledon, making one think that perhaps those suggestions were not such a great idea.

Djokovic’s statement, however, was deliberately exaggerated to create a comic effect. The real record of matches between the two on the London court is different: the Serbian defeated Sinner in the quarterfinals of 2022 and in the semifinals in 2023, while they did not face each other in 2024. Subsequently, the Italian defeated Djokovic in 2025 and 2026, always in the semifinals, for a total of two victories.
