To tell the truth, Bonelli also blames the government, besides silence, for something he would like to be more concrete but which, in fact, is just fake news. According to him, in fact, the executive “hinders climate policies, slows down renewable energies and does not implement a real plan for adaptation and securing the territory.” And this would happen to defend the interests of not better identified “oil and gas lobbies.” In truth, already in December 2023, a year after its establishment, the government adopted a structural intervention on the environment: the so-called “National Adaptation Plan to Climate Change” (PNACC). It identifies hundreds of concrete interventions to be carried out according to an organic and structural perspective, that is, taking into account the need to carry out actions involving multiple levels: from legal and financial instruments to interventions on infrastructures. A significant share of the European funds from the PNRR has been allocated to this objective, whose results will obviously be seen in the medium and long term. In short, a philosophy completely different from that adopted by previous governments, particularly those of the left, which limited themselves to emergency, isolated, and uncoordinated interventions: spot interventions that Avs today would like to reintroduce for mere political marketing reasons. Essentially, what is blamed on the right in government is acting pragmatically and effectively and not ideologically. Precisely because the right has, unlike the left, all the right cards on the environmental front, it can therefore adopt a critical attitude towards the most questionable and unscientific theses circulating about climate change and which have such an effect on an increasingly verbose and wishful-thinking left. And this is probably what irritates Bonelli and Fratoianni more than anything else.
