A possible candidacy of Alessandro Di Battista would upset the balance of the broad field. Indeed, if the former Five Star Movement member decided to run, it would be a blow for the Five Stars. This is revealed by the latest political poll published by Izi and conducted for Domani. First of all, the survey shows that one in three Italians would be aware of the former deputy’s intention to run in the 2027 political elections: this is 34.1 percent. But how significant is the electoral base? The current vote would stop at 1.3, while the potential electorate would be at 3.5. In a scenario where Di Battista is not in the race, however, his votes would naturally go mostly to the center-left. Specifically, 34.3 percent of those who would vote for the former Five Star list, if he decided not to run, would choose the Five Star Movement.

And again, without the Dibba option in the field, 17.6 percent are undecided. Other votes would return to the broad field: the alternative to Di Battista would be represented by the Pd at 9 percent. While a significant percentage would then desert the polls: if he did not run, 8.9 percent would not vote at all.
And again, 8.1 percent of those who would support the former Five Star would move to Brothers of Italy; 5.2 would choose Salvini’s League; 4.1 would give their vote to Vannacci’s National Future; 4 would opt for Green Alliance Left; 2.1 for Italia Viva, 2.1 then to Forza Italia. While 2 percent of possible Di Battista voters would choose More Europe and only 1.3 Noi Moderati of Lupi. In any case, what emerges is that the possible return of the former Five Star figure would end up damaging especially the Five Star Movement and the progressive coalition, depriving them of precious percentage points ahead of the electoral challenge.
