“Woke culture has become a sort of self-referential moral religion and for a progressive force it would be a serious political strategy mistake to rely on it to build an effective political action – Conte emphasizes in Repubblica -. According to Conte “we urgently need to address economic and social inequalities, dealing with concrete solutions regarding: wage policies, industrial plans, tax fairness and adequate taxes on financial income, support for the real economy, the right to housing, access to public services and adequate infrastructure, healthcare services and quality education. We must recover important resources from reviewing military spending, massively investing in human capital, reformulating a social security model adequate to the overwhelming technological and social transformations,” he adds.

“The right in Italy has failed. It has disappointed citizens by offering solutions inspired by authoritarian impulses, without however guaranteeing order and security.
