Rossella Diaco, the voice of Rai Isoradio, died at the age of 65. The presenter passed away on Monday, August 17 after a brief illness. “A multimedia programmer on staff at Isoradio for over fifteen years, previously at CIS and Rai International, she was a professional who always dedicated herself with passion to her work in public service channels. Even in the last months of her illness, she was able to be the strong, courageous, and determined woman that her colleagues have known over the years. To her family, especially her daughter Federica, the deepest condolences and the support of the entire Company,” reads a statement from Rai.
The Rai Board of Directors also expresses “deep condolences for her passing” through a statement in which Diaco is described as “a historic voice of the public service and a figure loved by colleagues and listeners. A professional of great competence, passion, and humanity, she left an important mark in the history of Rai radio and particularly of Isoradio.”
Born on January 3, 1960, in Gagliato (Catanzaro), she started in private radio stations, then in 1983 won the “Super Sfida DJ” contest of Rai Stereo Uno, beginning a professional path that saw her as a protagonist on Radio Uno, Stereo Uno, Rai International, CCISS Viaggiare Informati, and in recent years on Rai Isoradio, a station of which she was one of the most known and appreciated voices. During her career, she was also a correspondent at major Italian music festivals, host of events and artistic manifestations, and a protagonist of numerous initiatives in the world of communication and entertainment. The announcement of her passing was made by her daughter through a message posted on social media: “With immense pain, I announce the passing of my mom. She fought until the end and this morning she left us.”

Rossella Diaco herself wrote a message to friends on her Facebook page on July 27: “It’s been a long time since I wrote, all due to my health condition that doesn’t allow me to do much. I am in the hospital, for those who didn’t understand I have that nasty monster… therapies went badly, strength is decreasing. I miss my life, your affection is always felt, I feel it even if I don’t write.”
