And the Brothers of Italy deputy immediately replied: “Berizzi, who I believe is a journalist for Repubblica, I don’t know, maybe director Cappellini knows, wrote: ‘Meloni is neo-fascist’. Then there is Michele Serra, who literally says: ‘Bignami is a fascist from a fascist family’.”

After refreshing his interlocutor’s memory, Bignami continued: “I ask director Cappellini: do you condemn these things? Does he say he was wrong?”. Then he added: “The only right wing the left likes is the one that loses, but don’t come and tell us how we should lose, because we want to win as we did also in 2022. And today the polls say we are still managing to govern with the trust we have earned.” The video of the exchange that took place on TV was shared on Facebook by Bignami himself, who wrote alongside it: “The left-wing intelligentsia denied. They even take back their own words: they never change.”
