“Europe without Italy goes nowhere“. The statement is clear and comes from Francesco Lollobrigida, who claims Italy’s weight in the European Union and the change of pace of the Meloni government. The Minister of Agriculture spoke at “Bar Italia” in San Benedetto del Tronto, during the summer tour of Brothers of Italy.
The starting point is clear: “Europe is built on two goals: peace and prosperity”. But, to achieve prosperity – Lollobrigida explained – a “productive system that works, a strong economy” is needed. Only in this way can Europe count “on major geopolitical choices” and contribute to building peace. The minister therefore rejects the idea of Italy against Brussels. “We need Europe, the one of the Treaties of Rome, without Europe we would be weaker”. But the relationship, according to Lollobrigida, works both ways: “Europe without Italy goes nowhere”.
