Kyrgios admitted his responsibility, explaining that he went through a particularly complicated period, marked by injuries and the consequences on his mental health. An explanation that did not convince Roddick, who has long defended Sinner from the Australian’s accusations. In his podcast Served with Andy Roddick, the former American champion decided to respond directly. “When you pleaded guilty to beating your girlfriend you asked people to understand you and the context — thundered the American — Meanwhile, forever, you will be a person who beat his girlfriend, just as Sinner will forever be someone who tested positive in an anti-doping test.”
