Nadia Battocletti wins the gold medal in the women’s 10,000 meters at the European Athletics Championships currently taking place in Birmingham. The middle-distance runner from Trentino, already the winner of the 5,000 meters a few days ago, triumphs in 31’41″17 (seasonal personal best). Her final sprint to take first place on the podium is extraordinary. She thus confirms herself as the European champion two years after Rome 2024, also defending the title in the longest track distance in which she is also the reigning Olympic silver medalist. Behind her is the Dutch Maureen Koster (31’45″76) ahead of the Belgian Jana van Lent, bronze (31’47″81).
